Happy New Year! I know we are all relieved to put 2016 behind us. Whew, what a ride! 2017 is a #1 year numerically so that is all about beginning a new chapter in life. The planetary energy overview begins with Mercury still in retrograde motion until the 8th. It’s a bummer to begin the year with the planet ruling the mind backing up but that’s the way it is. Look at it this way, it just means a delay and gives one more time to complete things hanging over from 2016.
Venus is in Aquarius until the 4th and then enters the sign of her exaltation, Pisces, through the end of the month and into early February. This bodes well for relationships and all things dealing with the arts, women, beauty and luxuries. Her proximity to Mars in that sign can also stimulate the desire to connect with the opposite sex and this dance continues through February. Venus has a retrograde period in March which will cause many to question their positions in relationship in regards to power, submission and independence. This will be a much easier retrograde to handle than the protracted Mars retrograde of 2016.
Jupiter is in Libra through October, supporting fairness, equality and justice, in personal and global relationships. Stand up for what you believe in and walk your talk. Saturn continues to move through the latter degrees of Sagittarius, a Jupiter ruled sign, so this also supports fairness and justice but if misused can shift into religious extremism and intolerance.
Uranus in Aries is opposite Jupiter in Libra and can bring in some lucky encounters and opportunities. One has to act fast when they present so be ready to have some interesting changes happen if you have natal planets in the 20-25 degree range of the Cardinal signs. Neptune in Pisces still highlights an emphasis on water and oil issues and the mystical realm as well. Pluto in Capricorn has a rather oppressive vibe in the sign of big business and so the battle continues for control of resources and power continues.
